Day trip to Schwerin

Today Maria, a friendly woman from Stendal, took us along to Schwerin. The weather was fine! A good day for a trip with the train. First we had to wait at the station in Stendal.

Inside the train we found a nice place to sit. The view was great! So our journey started!
After two hours we arrived in Schwerin. Our first stop was the Schwerin castle! At the moment it is used as a parliament building for the parlament of the state Mecklenburg Hither Pomerania.

Near the castle we found a cave. We enjoyed to climb inside it.

At the Burgsee we tried to go fishing.
After a log time without a punch, we quit our fishing experiment.
After our fishing disaster we went into the city to drink coffee and eat a cupcake.
It really was a nice day in Schwerin! Thank you Maria to take us with you!

Our farewell party

This night we celebrate a big farewell party!
Our host family cooked some tipical Argentine delectability!
for example some traditional Empanada. That was some kind of hearty pies.
Than we helped to cook a yummy Locro!
Locro is a popular hearty thick stew.

We want to say thank you to all of our new Argentine friends! It was a honor for us to be a part of your life!

On the racecourse

Today we want to visit the racecourse.
Horse racing is very popular in Buenos Aires and several times a week the two racecourse in Palermo and San Isidro open the doors.
We went to the race in Palermo
All horses were presented to interested viewers
We decided to have a flutter
Here is the lucky bill
And off we went!

But unfortunately we had no luck.
We backed the wrong horse...
But it was a big fun!

Next to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Michelle Bachelet

Today we did another sightseeing tour in Buenos Aires. But the wether was not so nice. It was a rainy day...
In a shopping mall we found the whole soccer jersey of the Argentina national soccer team! We cross fingers for you! But Germany will be better ;-)
And then something special happened! We saw the first lady of Argentina!
The lady in black is Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. She is the 52nd and current President of Argentina! Next to her is Michelle Bachelet the President of Chile!

Wow! that was a big honor for us!!

Buenos Aires at night

Tonight we were on the streets of Buenos Aires.
Many historic buildings are illuminated at night.
The Puente de la Mujer, in the Puerto Madero district, is a pedestrian bridge opened in 2001. It was designed by Valencian architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava. The bridge is 160 meters long and 6 meters wide, with a metallic mast that rises 39 meters. The bridge swings aside when a ship needs to pass through. The bridge was built in Spain and moved in parts to Buenos Aires in many shipments. Artistically, the author states that the work represent the figure of a couple dancing tango, where the white mast represents the man, and the curved silhouette of the bridge represents the woman.
And now we are next to this nice bridge!
